As Paediatric Transplant Advanced Nurse Practitioner, Gráinne has responsibility for the long term nursing management of children with renal transplants at the Evelina London Children’s Hospital, where she has been part of the transplant team since her days as a post-graduate student in paediatrics in the early 1990’s. Her clinical interests include young adult health care; she has been central in setting up a transition programme, which incorporates a young adult service, in collaboration with colleagues at Guy’s Hospital. She has been published on her transition work.

Gráinne was previously International Director of the International Transplant Nurses Society (ITNS), has sat on the Allied Health Committee of the International Pediatric Transplant Association (IPTA) and sits on the Age Appropriate Care Board at Evelina London.

Gráinne’s research interests include the impact of transplantation on families and treatment adherence; she is passionate about teaching and regularly teaches patients, families and colleagues both nationally and internationally. Gráinne is a regular visitor to Cape Town where she teaches on the Nursing Masters programme. She sits on the editorial board of the Journal of Kidney Care.
