Shusen Zheng, China Professor of Surgery, Zhejiang University Shusen Zheng is a pioneer and an academic leader in organ transplantation and multi-organ transplantation in China. He trained in medicine at Zhejiang University and got PhD in West China Union University. In 1991, he participated in the first successful liver transplantation in Queen Mary Hospital of Hong Kong University. In 1993, he performed the first liver transplantation in Zhejiang Province, setting off a new upsurge of liver transplantation in China. In 2001, He performed the first pediatric living donor liver transplantation with the youngest recipient and the first adult living donor liver transplantation using an extended right liver lobe graft in the mainland of China. He has been dedicated to the innovation of surgical concepts and technology over the past 20 years. He established a Chinese criteria of liver transplantation for hepatocellular carcinoma, the “Hangzhou criteria” . He published more than 400 papers in journals in national and international journals. He founded the first domestic English magazine in the field of hepatobiliary and pancreatic diseases (HBPD INT). Currently, he is Academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, Fellow of National Academy of Medicine, France, President of Chinese Society of Organ Transplantation. He works as Director of the Key Laboratory of Combined Multi-Organ Transplantation of the Ministry of Public Health, Director of Department of Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Surgery in The First Affiliated Hospital, Zhejiang University School of Medicine and Shulan (Hangzhou) Hospital.
