Dr. Pouch received her M.D. from the Temple University Lewis Katz School of Medicine in 2007.  She completed Internal Medicine internship and residency at the University of Chicago and served as a Chief Medical Resident at the John H. Stroger Hospital of Cook County in Chicago.  She then completed a fellowship in Infectious Diseases at Columbia University Medical Center and received a Master of Science in Biostatistics from the Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health.  Dr. Pouch joined the faculty of Emory University School of Medicine as an Assistant Professor in the Division of Infectious Diseases in 2017. 

Dr. Pouch’s clinical and research interests relate to the management of infections in solid organ and stem cell transplant recipients.  Her research focuses on the epidemiology and management of multi-drug resistant pathogens, as well as their impact on patient and graft outcomes. She is an active member of the Infectious Diseases Society of America, the International Society for Heart & Lung Transplantation, The Transplantation Society, and the American Society of Transplantation, where she chairs the Infectious Diseases Community of Practice’s Multi-Drug Resistant Organism Working Group.
